Springfield, OH.

The City of Springfield, Ohio hired Urban Fast Forward and CUDA Studio to develop a strategic revitalization plan for the neighborhood just south of its downtown. The neighborhood has considerable historic buildings that were threatened by decline and demolition.

Strategy: 

The consulting team conducted extensive community engagement to engage long-time resident stakeholders, both eager and skeptical in a year long conversation to build a vision for the neighborhood. The team developed a set of recommendations that range from a tactical Phase 0 step to long-term capacity building for incremental and organic neighborhood revival.

 

The community and our team are continuing our work with the city on a second phase which includes an implementation of the steps recommended in the first phase report.
