"Made In Camp"

 

Camp Washington, a historically industrial neighborhood filled with diverse and eclectic businesses from manufacturing to maker and hackerspace had seen significant disinvestment over the past few decades as manufacturing needs changed. The community had amazing potential but no clear direction.  Looking to determine the best strategy for neighborhood revitalization the Camp Washington Community Board engaged Urban Fast Forward to develop a neighborhood plan and brand identity for the community.

Strategy: 

The Urban Fast Forward team engaged community stakeholders in visioning sessions with discussion exploring a range of solutions to identify innovative strategies for repositioning the neighborhood towards a successful revitalization vision. That vision included developing a comprehensive strategy that was crafted on the unique assets of the community which includes capitalizing on its blue-collar millennial workforce.

The plan has generated new investment from the artist community in Camp Washington and repositioned the Community Board to act on strategic catalytic development opportunities.
